Jean-Luc, I’m pleased to inform you that the Data Red project was a success. Your man, LaForge, is to be commended, though not officially as, of course, this project never happened.

Starfleet security is drawing up an installation plan for isolated subspace distortion generators to be installed throughout the ship. Most likely, the Enterprise will put in at a starbase for “routine maintenance” that will require the entire crew be disembarked from the ship long enough for our teams to place the units. A baryon sweep or a replacement of the air-scrubbers requiring a vacuum through out the ship will provide an adequate cover story for such an operation.

You will be given locations and energizing codes to share with the appropriate members of your senior staff (excepting, of course, Data) after the installation is complete.

Soon enough, the Enterprise will be at Condition: Data Green.
