Both Commander Riker and Lieutenant Commander LaForge have stepped forward to accept the red team challenge.

While I initially had intended to accept them both and allow them to work together and chose up to eight participants from the ranks of the junior officers and enlisted, Mister LaForge has come to me with an interesting notion regarding the exercise; one in which I see a particular value. Thus, I have granted him exclusive command of the red team.

Number One has taken it in his usual stride and has, in fact, engaged in a wager with Mister LaForge – a bottle of genuine Romulan Ale, I believe.

I’m intrigued to see how this plays out, especially as Geordi has chosen to not select any “co-conspirators,” putting him at a disadvantage before the games have even begun.
